And there are two very toxic items to animals that you need to keep away from your pets, one is of course chocolate and the other is lilies. Yes I realize not all cats eat chocolate, but you would be surprised how many that will eat anything. But almost all cats love plants, so if you get lilies for Valentines day please do keep them in a room where your cat can be shut off from them.  Store your chocolates in paw proof drawers and cabinets, and remember the darker the chocolate the worse it is for an animal. Alcoholic beverages is another, especially for dogs, they really like the wine.  And of course anything fun to chew, ribbons, bows, balloons, string, etc.  Have a great Valentines but keep your animals in mind while enjoying it.
